First War

The First War was a conflict primarily between the forces of Morakh and the people of Daruga and Levira. It began around 10,000 B.E. and lasted for several years. The exact details of the conflict are lost to history, but several important facts have been preserved through the Dwarves and Elves that fought in it. The war was started by Morakh, for reasons that are not well known.

The majority of Morakh's forces came from Pentari elves and Duergar dwarves, both populations newly created by Morakh. These people were not magically compelled into servitude, but they were persuaded and influenced by his magic and the words of those loyal to him. Morakh also created the Svirfneblin at this time, but they were largely uninterested in the war.

The war ultimately ended with the remaining forces of Morakh being forced into the Underdark, and with Morakh's exile to the Shadowfell. The debate between Daruga and Levira over their son's fate lasted several more years past the end of the war. This debate caused earthquakes, tsunamis, and other terrible disasters on the Material Plane, which ultimately led to the separating of the landmass into several continents.
